Situated directly north of the village, Whisby Nature Park offers six waymarked trails around lakes, woodland and grazing marsh. 

It has a large car park (£2 in summer and £1 in winter) and the Natural World Centre has a shop, cafe and toilets, also outside seating and play area. 

Residents of Thorpe on the Hill can obtain an annual free parking permit by going to the Natural World Centre office which is open from 10.00 am to 4.30 pm.  You should bring your vehicle log book and two utility bills to prove your address.  Please avoid weekends and lunchtimes if possible as these can be very busy.

There is a circular 3 mile trail starting in the village, following farm tracks and going through Stocking Wood and skirting the edge of Tunman Wood. 

Thorpe on the Hill Walk

Another circular 4 mile walk starts from the Dovecote Pub site on the A46 and goes through Tunman Wood on the western edge of the parish.
